Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)

The Zoning Board of Appeals is a five member board, all residents of the Town of Austerlitz, whom are appointed by the Town Board. They hear appeals (variances) from the Town Code. The Zoning Board meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00pm as needed.

After carefully considering the draft presented by the Zoning Commission and the comments of hundreds of town citizens the Town Board adopted the town’s first zoning law at the June 2009 board meeting. Many thanks to everyone who helped shape a fair and balanced law that will help preserve the unique character and the precious environmental resources of our town.
