Highway

The Town of Austerlitz Highway Department maintains a road system of 61.7 miles in length, fifty of which are unpaved gravel. A crew of five men plus the Superintendent maintain these roads.

• These responsibilities include snow removal and ice control, paving and the maintenance of roads, signage, drainage, tree and brush cutting and removal within the Town's right of way, and the disposal of non-domestic dead animals.
