Town of Austerlitz Partners with Spencertown Fire Company to Establish Emergency Warming & Cooling Center Spencertown, NY — The Town of Austerlitz and the Spencertown Fire Company (SFC) have announced a new partnership aimed at providing temporary relief for residents during periods of extreme heat or cold—especially during power outages when home heating or air conditioning may not be available.
At its most recent monthly meeting, the Austerlitz Town Board formally adopted Extreme Temperature Cooling & Warming Center Guidelines, a project spearheaded by Town Supervisor Rob Lagonia. This initiative expands the Town’s ability to offer safe, temperature-controlled environments to residents in need. (Click HERE to read the full press release.)
